Technical Rider

  • 2 x Technics 1200 / 1210 turntables. These will ideally need to be able to be turned around into “battle position” (i.e. with the pitch controls at the top).
  • Clear beer-free space immediately adjacent to the decks to place a laptop, and a spare power socket nearby. This is for Serato to be used – vinyl-only sets can be done too though, on request.
  • Decent quality DJ mixer suitable for turntablism – the crossfader curve should be able to be set to a very sharp cut. Specific scratch mixers such as Rane TTM/Empath, Ecler HAK, Pioneer DJM-909, Vestax PMC range etc. are very much preferred, but club mixers such as Pioneer DJM 600/800 are OK as long as the crossfader can be set to do a sharp cut. Mixers to avoid are wide format many-channel mixers such as Pioneer DJM-1000 and Allen & Heath mixers (due to their poor crossfader curves that aren’t suitable for quick cutting).
