Non Stop DJs

DJ Guy and DJ Brelson started DJing together as Non Stop DJs in 2002, playing busy mixed up booty sets of Detroit Ghettotech, Chicago Ghetto House, Miami Bass, electro and Detroit techno. In 1996 DJ Brelson had been sent mixtapes of 12 Tech Mob and Gary Chandler from Detroit and the combination of the incredible records and the fast turntablist DJing inspired them to do their own thing in a similar style. They DJed across Europe alongside the likes of DJ Godfather, DJ Assault, Disco D, Keith Tucker, DJ Rolando, Kevin Saunderson, Rob Hood and Ed DMX, with their trademark setup of DJ Brelson on Ableton Live and DJ Guy on turntables.

They were regulars at London’s WIDE clubnights, and in August 2003 Novamute released the Cutlass Supreme Presents UK Bass mix CD by WIDE’s own Cutlass Supreme, which featured 3 tracks by the duo.

At the end of 2003, Non Stop DJs dropped their ever-popular All Cylinders mix, jamming more than 112 tracks into the 72 minute ride, and in 2004 they started their Non Stop Recordings label to release their own material.

The first release on Non Stop Recordings was the Furious EP. It got a big response, with radio play on BBC Radio 1 and Detroit’s booty shows, DJ support around the globe from the likes of DJ Rolando and DJ Godfather, and Dave Clarke placing the 12″ at the #1 spot in his electro chart.

The second release was 2006’s Retarded EP, which included 4 “Ghetto Locks” – a sneaky invention of DJ Guy’s, like regular locked grooves but lined up with each other and with 5 beats per groove so they play at the typically fast speeds needed in booty sets.

The last Non Stop DJs release before DJ Guy started doing his solo stuff on his Global Fire label was Rock The Nation, a 6 track digital-only EP on Detroit’s Databass Online label.
