DJ Guy – Freak It All Night – OUT NOW!

Freak It All Night is now out at all good digital music stores!

Here’s what people have been saying about it so far:

  • “Fucking LOVING this track!” – Chrissy Murderbot (Sleazetone, WIDE Records, Chicago USA)
  • “Freak It All Night is amazing! You’re ruling ghetto tech nowadays” – Inspector Scratch (Copenhagen Denmark)
  • “Freak It All Night iz the bomb, a classic booty bass track with all the elements which made me love that music!
I’ll play it Friday in Switzerland and Saturday @ our BANG DA BOAT party! Peace.” – Marvy Da Pimp (Booty Call, Databass Records, Paris France)
  • “The track sounds really good! Great work!” – Kaptain Cadillac (Booty Call, Databass Records, Paris France)
  • “I’ve had the vocal hook stuck in my head since my first listen! I can definitely see this rocking dancefloors” – DJ Typhonic (Databass Records, Sydney Australia)
  • “Cool stuff. Sounds like some track from back in the day but with a new touch. And the vocals are cool” – DJ Nessbeth (4 Player Records, Mannheim Germany)
  • “Dope!” – Freeze Da Booty Hunter (Booty Call, Databass Records, Marseille France)

Here’s a selection of direct links to buy the release at various places online – I’ve listed a whole load in case people have their favourites, but bear in mind that some stores are much better than others. It’s hard to compare them with all the different currencies and formats etc. but while I’ve not shopped there myself yet, 7Digital seems to be pretty good price-wise so I’d recommend trying them (let me know if they’re any good!), whereas piss-takers like DJTunes.com and Trackitdown.net are trying to charge what a 12″ with these tracks on would have cost! JunoDownload.com aren’t that much better tbh – it’s a nice store but they charge far too much.

PIERRÜCKT @ Su.Casa, Ulm Germany, 3rd October 2009

I’m spinning at PIERRÜCKT in Ulm, Germany this Saturday so please come along if you’re in the area. I’m going to be playing a mixed up set of Bass and Baltimore Club – 2 styles I love but had never really thought about connection-wise before. One name that leaps to mind that bridges the two in a way is Frank Ski, who not only produced lots of early Baltimore Club stuff but who also did lots of nice remixes for Bass artists like Luke, Poison Clan and Disco Rick, so no doubt I’d be spinning a few of those along with loads of my favourite Bass and Club tracks.

Here’s the details:

Floor 1 (Miami Bass / Baltimore)

  • DJ Guy (Global Fire, London)
  • Cool Kid Dewey (Untitled, Ulm)

Floor 2 (Drum and Bass)

  • Rregula & Dementia (Disturbed, DSCI4, Citrus)
  • NME Click including MC Marvelous (DSCI4, Basswerk)

03/10/2009, 23h, 7€, Su Casa, Ulm

DJ Guy on Facebook at last!

I’ve held out against using it for long enough and finally crumbled, so there’s now a DJ Guy Facebook page.

I’m currently finding my feet with it (and finding that it’s not half as easy to add an artist page as I thought it would be!) but hopefully I’ll have the hang of it before long.  I’ve only created the DJ Guy page for now – I might add a Global Fire or Dikulous page next but the DJ Guy one may well do on its own.

So anyway, please celebrate my stumbling into the blinding light of modern-type social networking by adding yourself as a fan, poking me, tweaking my ear or something like that.
